Red Dead Redemption (Playstation 3 / XBox 360) There is a rule in my house, Hubby is not allowed to play his PS3 whilst I am home (unless I am in bed) (as you can imagine it gets really boring watching him kill various forms of Zombies and Mutants .. his thirst for blood never ceases to amaze me). However I was transfixed by Red Dead Redemption, its a beautiful game to watch and even when hubby was getting his kill on, I was still watching! Even to the point as I muttered the words "please make sure you finish the game when I am home, as I want to see what happens at the end" The music, the storyline and the graphics are spot on, and the ending nearly brought a tear to my eye ... Reviewed Mrs B Red Dead Redemption delivers the best videogame version of the Wild West yet with story, characters, and action you can seriously give a damn about. I am sincerely and pleasantly surprised that I can shoot my own horse in the back of the head while I am riding him, and even skin him afterward. Or that I can blow away the piano player in the saloon if I dont like what he is playing. Anyway, Red Dead is a great game to climb into and just live for a while, and that is everything I wanted. In fact, I am actually feeling pretty annoyed that I am not wandering around in there right now. Stupid videogame reviews. There are herds to save, outlaws to kneecap, frontier ladies to rescue, random strangers to tie up and drop off a cliff for no reason, and sunsets that need riding off into. Rockstar nailed the West perfectly ... Reviewed MR B Naughty Bear: Release Date: 25/06/2010 (XBox 360) Naughty Bear is a grisly psychopath slicing a path of manipulation and terror across a cartoon world of otherwise blissful teddy bears on the Island of Perfection. The other bears have gotten away with blaming Naughty Bear for everything that has gone wrong on the island, until now. Naughty Bear tells the tale of one demented teddy bears ruthless efforts to torment and harass the inhabitants of the Island of Perfection. You will engage in sadistic scuffles with hapless stuffed animals from all corners of the toy box, waging psychological warfare on unsuspecting victims. Split/Second Velocity (PlayStation 3 / Xbox 360) Split/Second Velocity is a dynamic new title seeing players take part in races on a chaotic reality TV show in which winning is as much about taking out opponents as crossing the finishing line first. As you speed around the games city-sized environments, you will be able to trigger massive explosive events which can create new routes, alter the course of the track and put competitors out of commission. However, it does not really lend itself to lengthy solo sessions. This is a game best enjoyed in short bursts. At its best, it is an intoxicating cocktail of high-speed thrills and explosive action. It may feel slightly shallow after several hours of play, but a hour or so here and there and you are looking at some of the most intense and gleefully maniacal racing available. Crackdown 2 (Xbox 360): Release Date: 09/07/2010 Welcome back Agents ... Released back in February 2007, Crackdown was a crazy ride of super powered agents charged with clearing up a lawless city. The comic book visuals and over the top action made Crackdown a stand out title, not to mention that it came packed with access to the Halo 3 Beta ... You will return to Pacific City 10 years after the original Crackdown. With the City in the grip of Freaks and an illusive group called The Cell. The Freaks are mutated civilians of Pacific City, who take to the streets by night causing destruction and carnage. The Cell is an organised group who attack during the day. So night or Day, you will always have someone to fight. Crackdown 2 is a true sequel that is to be honest long overdue, anyone with an Xbox 360 should definitely keep an eye on this one. |
